Join us for an immersive Acrylic Painting Classes led by the experienced and talented Linda Lane. With over 30 years of teaching art and a degree from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in NYC, Linda brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every session.

What to Expect

Complete three canvases in the 9-week session
Explore three different styles of acrylic painting
Learn about mixing colors, various painting techniques, illustration, color values, and composition

Mahjong

Learn everything you need to know to get started playing Mahjong with expert teacher, Wendy Rudman.

Course Syllabus

Week 1:  Introduction to the game and tile identification, the structure of the game, and all the hardware of the Mahjong set
Week 2:  Understanding the Mahjong card 
Week 3:  Breaking the Wall, dealing of the tiles, the Charleston, and placement of tiles on the rack. 
Week 4:  How to pick and discard, identifying winning hands, playing the game.            
Week 5:  Wall games, mistakes of the game, going dead, payouts, and Pushke's. Supervised play.
Week 6:  Advanced winning strategies, basic offensive and defensive strategies. Supervised play.
 

About the Instructor

Wendy Rudman graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in psychology and a postgraduate degree in photography. She has been teaching both Mahjong and Canasta for over 25 years.  Wendy has taught at major institutions including Alper JCC Miami, Miami Beach JCC, Maribel, the Palaces in Kendall & Coral Gables, UM Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and various country clubs in Coral Gables-South Miami, Aventura, Miami Beach, and Fisher Island. Wendy was one of the first certified teachers of the Canasta League of America (CLA) as well.
